He says there is no better feeling than getting to build lasting relationships with his patients throughout their treatment, and he looks forward to having the same experience with you.
Why Did You Decide to Become
an Oral Surgeon?
While in college, Dr. Keyser shadowed various doctors, including a dentist. This experience made him feel that dentistry was the best combination of healthcare, working with your hands, and artistry, so it was clearly the right path for him.
In dental school, he was drawn to the wide scope of oral surgery, complexity of the procedures, crossover between medicine and dentistry, and the huge impact that can be made in patients’ lives. He knew this was his calling and never looked back.
Where Did You Study Oral Surgery?
Dr. Keyser began his training by earning his DMD degree from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. What followed was a six-year residency at the University of Maryland, during which he completed his specialty education in oral and maxillofacial surgery in addition to earning a medical degree.
Today, Dr. Keyser is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He holds both a dental and medical license in Massachusetts. He’s also an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Massachusetts Dental Society, and East Middlesex Dental Society. He currently serves on the staff at both Lahey Hospital and Winchester Hospital.
Dr. Keyser is constantly taking continuing education, dedicating many hours, particularly to full arch dental implant treatment with pterygoid and zygomatic implants. Committed to using the latest methods and technology, his fully digital workflow enables him to efficiently and masterfully provide full mouth implant supported smile transformations for his patients.
Outside of the Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Growing up in Newton, Dr. Keyser now lives in Medford with his wife and son. While his passion for oral surgery often sees him spending his free time reading articles about the newest protocols and technology, he does manage to have hobbies, including playing guitar, going golfing, skiing, biking, and exploring new restaurants. He is also an avid Boston sports fan and enjoys cheering on all the hometown teams.
