How Do All-On-X Dental Implants Work?

All-On-X refers to a procedure where dental implants are placed into the jaw and are immediately attached to a full set of teeth. The “X” refers to the number of implants used, which can typically range from 4-6. The teeth simply screw into the implants rather than sitting on top of the gums, making it much more stable compared to a removable prosthetic. This same approach can also be taken to restore single teeth, combining implants with 3D-printed dental crowns.
Am I a Candidate for All-On-X or Teeth in a Day?

The biggest factor that makes a patient a good candidate for All-On-X (also called “Teeth-in-a-Day”) is the quantity of and strength of the jawbone that will hold the implants. In short, if the bone is dense enough to provide a stable foundation for the new teeth, then you would be a good candidate! One of the biggest advantages of All-On-X is that now with remote anchorage (zygomatic, transnasal, or pterygoid implants), compared to traditional dental implants, less quantity and/or quality of bone is required, so this approach enables nearly every patient to get implants who previously wasn’t a good candidate for them.
